ABSTRACT

The subject of "environmental systems" normally refers to buildings and the systems that provide a comfortable and stable environment for their occupants, that is, air conditioning and lighting systems. However, the field is much broader. It is broken down into three general areas:

Building environmental systems. That is, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, acoustics, and so forth. Industrial and process environmental conditioning. Microclimate conditioning for specific processes.
