Precursor of kallikren (serine protease) that participates in the production of bradykinin. Hageman’s factor also participates in the blood clotting process.
An autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland. The gland is enlarged, with a firm goitrous appearance. The individual (usually female) is either euthyroid or hypothyroid with a mild myxedema look. Thyroglobulin antibodies are of the IgG type and complexes of the hormone and these antibodies are frequently deposited in the gland.
