ABSTRACT
In this chapter we will describe a procedure called the directional analysis of bloodstain patterns, whereby photographs of individual bloodstains on vertical surfaces are analyzed with the help of a computer and the BackTrack Suite1 of programs. The object of the analysis is to discover how many blows or bloodletting events took place and where these events occurred (e.g., was the victim standing or lying on the floor?).
