ABSTRACT

Much of the information presented in the previous chapter on oranges and tangerines also applies to grapefruit, lemons, and limes (sometimes referred to as yellow citrus fruits). This chapter will provide unique information pertaining to these citrus fruits. Grapefruits are known for their large size and for their tendency to grow in clusters like grapes. They have higher acid levels than oranges as well as a distinctive flavor and bitter taste. Lemons and limes have characteristic flavors, small size, and high acid content that imparts a sour taste; they may produce multiple crops in a season.
