ABSTRACT
Nanostructured materials (NSMs), nanocrystals, or nanophase materials are polycrystals with an ultrafine grain size in the range of 3 to 100 nm. First results on the preparation of NSMs by a compaction of nanometer-sized metal powders and their properties were reported by Russian investigators.
