ABSTRACT

Heat exchangers are engineering devices that transfer thermal energy between fluid streams at different temperatures. They arise in many applications, including power generation, energy storage, air conditioning systems, materials processing, and various others. Commonly encountered heat exchanger configurations include concentric tube , cross-flow, and shelland-tube heat exchangers. In this chapter, the design and analysis of these types of heat exchangers will be investigated. Both single phase and multiphase systems will be considered.
