Abdomen with five visible sternites, the sutures entire; surface smooth. Male genitalia with the penis broad and flattened,
often with internal sclerites and spicules; tegmen with parameres fused into a single apical sclerite; basal piece generally much larger than apical, base ring-like with broad basal process. Female genitalia of variable sclerotization and structure.
