ABSTRACT
With apologies to Gertrude Stein, it is not true that a brick is a brick is a brick. While masonry bricks come in all sizes and shapes, modern baked clay bricks used on the exterior of buildings, i.e., face bricks, come in three distinct grades: SW (severe weather resistant), MW (moderate weather resistant), and NW (no weather resistance).
