Antipsychotic drugs may be defined as medications effective in palliative treatments of psychotic disorders, most notably schizophrenia. It addition to schizophrenia, the beneficial actions of antipsychotic drugs have been found in a variety of conditions ranging from postsurgical delirium and amphetamine intoxication to paranoia, mania, psychotic depression, and agitation of Alzheimer’s dementia.
