ABSTRACT

Anginal pain is caused by the constriction of coronary blood vessels, which reduces the blood flow to the heart. Because of its rapid action and low cost, NG is a drug most useful as a coronary vessel vasodilator. It increases the amount of blood that flows to the heart and with it brings oxygen and relief of pain. As the blood vessels stretch, due to vasorelaxing effects of nitric oxide, NADPH oxidase is activated to produce superoxide.
