ABSTRACT

Plants have been used for medicinal purposes for centuries, and today about 80% of the world population relies primarily on botanical preparations as medicines for their health needs.

Phytotherapy is common in Europe, where Germany holds the largest share (49%), followed by Italy, France, U.K. (10% each), Spain, Netherland, Belgium (2% each), and the rest of Europe (15%). Overall, the European market is predicted to grow at an annual rate of 4%.
