ABSTRACT
Notes: In my earlier book on Medicinal Plants of the Bible I followed the Moldenkes who concluded that the spiny clotbur was the most likely candidate for this biblical thorn (BIB). But Zohary (1982) does not even cover this species in his bible book, though three species of Xanthium, including this spiny one, are included in his Flora of Palestine (FP3).
