ABSTRACT
The mechanical properties of powder such as adhesion, cohesion, and flowability may affect powder handling. These properties of powder can be measured by a tensile, shearing, and compression test of the powder bed. In this section, we discuss how to measure the mechanical properties of a powder bed and how to describe the mechanical strength or flowability of a powder bed based on the powder mechanics.
