7 Surface Modification book
The surface of powder particles is often modified to adapt them to their final uses. The purposes of surface modification are very diverse. They range from simple organophilication of inorganic substances by a coupling agent to very complicated complex formation with the guest species under well-controlled distribution and interactions with a substrate. Introduction of electronically or biologically functional groups belongs to an important part of a fast expanding palette of techniques.
