ABSTRACT
Particles have various shapes depending on their manufacturing method and mechanical properties. Unlike a sphere or a rectangular parallel-piped, which are objects with clear geometrical definitions, powder particles are very complicated objects with no definite form. It is generally very difficult to describe their shapes. They have therefore been conventionally described and classified by the use of various terms.
