ABSTRACT

The team finally reached the step “where the rubber meets the road.” Team members were ready to create actual widgets. Until this point, they had been working with pieces of paper and computer screens. They had been planning, designing, modeling, and analyzing. They knew what the Just Right Widget would look like; they knew how much it would weigh; and they knew how long it would take to produce one — in theory. It was now time to translate theory into reality and to prove that their simulations were correct and that they could produce Just Right Widgets that met the customers’ needs.
