ABSTRACT

Just as IT departments recognized the need for formal processes for developing software and implemented traditional SDLCs to meet this need, they also recognized the need for a structured way to manage change to those systems. The corollary to this statement is that, just as not all IT departments have adopted development methodologies, not all have embraced formal change management. For those departments that lack these processes and for those that have change management but want to review its effectiveness, Six Sigma tools can be helpful.
