ABSTRACT
In the continuing attempt to reduce the cycle time of delivering a software solution, packaged software or, as it is sometimes called COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) software, can be one of the modern IT department’s most effective methods. As its name implies, the software is developed and “packaged” by a software vendor with the goal that it will be used by many different companies.
