ABSTRACT

At some point in your life, if it has not happened already, you will probably become personally involved in a death investigation. That is, you may have a vested interest in the outcome of the death investigation. For example, assume that you are at a friend’s house and are preparing to go hunting. Your friend tells you that he is going downstairs to clean his gun. A few minutes later you hear a shot and rush downstairs and find him dead on the floor. The coroner comes to the scene, conducts a death investigation, and the death certificate indicates that the manner of death is suicide. You disagree and believe that his death was accidental. What do you do?
