If you have made it this far, you have probably somewhat bought into the idea that software architecture is an important subdiscipline within the software engineering discipline. So far, key concepts and techniques have been introduced to enable architects to:

Gather, organize, and analyze architectural drivers n Understand the relationship between structure and systemic properties n Decompose design into elements based upon the architectural drivers n

This is the essence of architectural design. However, these things do not matter if the architect fails to adequately write down the architectural design. It would be prudent to again remind the reader that architectural representations are not the architecture of a system. Representations are a reflection of the actual structures or the structures you intend to build. Real software-intensive systems are often more complex than the best documentation is able to convey.
