ABSTRACT
The organization of this chapter is as follows. In Section 13.2, we discuss the various example models that have influenced our research. In particular, we describe various statistical models and some other published models for image classification. In Section 13.3, we discuss image classification algorithms. In particular, we discuss various aspects of dimensionality reduction, feature transformation, and optimal feature subset selection, and then provide an overview of subspace clustering. Section 13.4 concludes the chapter. Figure 13.1 illustrates the various models we have considered in developing the tool. Details of data mining for image classification and related applications can be found in [1-5].
