ABSTRACT
This chapter will provide an overview of the genetic aspects of eating disorders, namely anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. They will be introduced as clinical conditions and diagnostic criteria presented. A review of basic genetic concepts will follow. These concepts then will be applied to a review and summary of genetic studies in eating disorders.
