ABSTRACT
One of the fastest growing areas today is composites. Composites offer good strength,
corrosion resistance, and lightweight; so they are continually replacing metals. As the cost
of fuel continues to increase, much of the replacement of metals is due to desired weight
reductions. Composites are generally composed of two phases: the continuous or matrix
phase, which surrounds the discontinuous or dispersed phase.
