ABSTRACT

Carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs), which were discovered in the 1980s, and 1990s, respectively, have attracted considerable attention because of their outstanding physical properties.

In addition to their small size, CNTs and CNFs are half as dense as aluminum, have high tensile strength, elastic modulus, high electric conductivity, current-carrying capacity, and transmit heat twice as well as pure diamond.
