ABSTRACT
Detonations are reactive wave phenomena whose propagation is controlled by shock waves. If the reaction rates are essentially infinite and chemical equilibrium is attained, one has a steady-state detonation whose propagation rate is governed solely by thermodynamics and hydrodynamics.
