ABSTRACT
Design is the cornerstone for supporting performance, operability, and other nonfunctional requirements in an application. It is the point of intersection where many different project streams converge and is the place to confirm that all the different pieces fit together. Design activities sit between the conceptual, logical view of an application and the physical one that will ultimately be deployed into the production environment.
