The Business Case for Non-Functional Testing What Should Be Tested Non-functional testing is a wide-ranging topic that covers many different aspects of systems behavior. Some of the most common non-functional tests that are routinely identified and conducted are performance, failover, and capacity tests, yet many projects neglect to test additional non-functional characteristics of the systems they implement, such as sustainability/soak test, operability and recovery, to name a few.
