ABSTRACT
In molecular biology calculations, there are certain average values, assumptions, or facts; these are summarised below:
1. The relative molecular masses (Mr) of amino acids range from 75 to 204. As there are more smaller amino acids in proteins, the weighted average is conveniently taken as 128 and that of amino acid residues as 110 (see answer to Question 4.10).
