ABSTRACT
The protein that would be enzymatically cleaved to form the therapeutic protein was grown in a bacterial fermentation process. At the time this project commenced, most of the focus was on the more technically demanding events in the process. In accordance with the lessons from Little’s Law, it was decided to shift the focus to fermentation, the first event in the process. The aim was to provide better uniformity of both quality and quantity to the remainder of the events.
