ABSTRACT
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) oversees the largest drug-and alcohol-testing program in the country. The DOT rules affect more than 12 million transportation employees across the U.S. The program also has international impact in that all motor carriers and some railroad workers whose work brings them into the U.S., either from Canada or Mexico, are subject to the same testing requirements as their American counterparts.
