ABSTRACT
The plant biotechnology field is of prime importance to anyone studying food production, food science, or nutrition. Some new plant biotechnologies (e.g., the use of plant cell culture) have gained public acceptance and are used throughout the world; others, particularly those surrounding the development of transgenic plants, are controversial and, in many parts of the world, have not been accepted by the public.
