ABSTRACT
Field interviews are commonly conducted by public law enforcement and less often in the private sector. A broad definition of a field interview includes any planned or unplanned interview conducted outside the investigator’s primary facility. This might include traffic stops, field contacts with victims, witnesses or suspects, or follow-up interviews at an individual’s home, place of business, or hospital.
