Creativity Creativity is an integral part of all intellectual endeavors and is a critical necessity in all areas of research. However, it is a “soft” and poorly understood cognitive skill and is universally acknowledged as difficult or impossible to teach. Fortunately, most individuals are amply creative if only the skill can be focused and directed; directing attention is precisely where patterns excel.
