ABSTRACT
Pattern Analysis In this chapter, published design science research papers, many of which have been highly influential in their areas, are analyzed in terms of the patterns used in the performance of the research effort they describe. Some of the papers are from the information systems (IS) area while others are from the related field of computer science. In either case, they are exemplars of learning and investigation through artifact construction, the most fundamental characteristic of design science research.
