ABSTRACT

Light management materials began with the use of glass windows to allow light into dwellings and then moved into glass lenses for microscopes and telescopes. Although adhesives predated the development of glass, both electro-optical devices (from calculators to televisions) and pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) were developed and matured in the twentieth century. Th e advent of electro-optical applications created a diverse need for PSAs, including optically clear PSAs for displays. Th is chapter largely focuses on compositional and performance aspects of functional optically clear PSAs.
