ABSTRACT

What recommendations can encourage further collaboration and

communication?

A goal of the workshop was to define a research agenda relating to the area of

computation and visualization for understanding of dynamic geographic

domains. Participants were asked to identify what they saw as major research

challenges based on the previous days’ discussions as well as drawing on

expertise in their own domains and were tasked with distinguishing research

priorities that could be characterized as short, medium, and long-term. The

objective of defining such an agenda is to highlight and define areas of

research that will benefit and support analytical efforts, as well as identify

open research questions for the academic geographic information science

(GIScience) community to address.
