Introduction

The NDVH website, for reasons I do not understand, limits its definition of domestic violence to behavior between couples in romantic or intimate relationships. The vast majority of the states, as noted in the Preface, recognize domestic violence as incidents that occur between family or household members. To meet 21st century standards, the NDVH website needs to change its name to the National Intimate Partner Hotline or change its definition of domestic violence to meet the definitions set by the vast majority of states.
