ABSTRACT

Hundreds of papers are devoted to experimental investigations of vaporization inside capillary-porous structures (CPS) attached to a heat transfer surface. The number of publications and research groups in this field is increasing continuously. However, a majority of these investigations is done in such a manner that presented results had a fragmented character. Sometimes, results reveal a contradictory nature and often there is not enough information for analysis. Therefore, we are going to consider only the experimental research having a wide range of main factors and containing representative experimental data and sufficient information. We will not analyze in detail the experiments representing local episodic nature. The publications dedicated to physical explanations and theoretical models of vaporization inside porous structures will be examined more carefully.
