ABSTRACT
Wrapped around the eight evolutionary patterns is a measurable framework for planning, executing, and evaluating strategic innovation, because you need this as much as you need a framework for managing the technicalities of innovation. Therefore, you have the tactical TRIZ methodology of DMASI, but you also have the strategic method of Define-Map-Apply-Plot-Implement (DMAPI), summarized in “The Strategic TRIZ Methodology” sidebar (p. 109). In the big picture of business, the DMAPI methodology is a direct input into the Strategic Thinking process, which synthesizes a host of critical success factors in formulating the ideal state of an organization.
