ABSTRACT

Nowadays, digital human models (DHM) are widely used for ergonomic evaluation of products and workplaces. Th ey actually enable a fi rst evaluation of the interaction between future users and their environment at a very early stage of the product (or workplace) design. Th ese models can be decomposed into a wide variety of functionalities such as cognitive assessment, strength prediction, body shape representation, discomfort evaluation, or posture and motion simulation. Th is last functionality is discussed in this chapter.
