ABSTRACT

Digital human models exhibit a variety of forms. Some use two-dimensional fi gure templates, while others are represented by three-dimensional geometry. No matter what form is taken, the basic requirement for anthropometric data holds. It defi nes body sizes of the digital human model, which refl ects its similarity to the real human. Traditional anthropometric methods take lots of time and eff ort for data collection. Nowadays, 3D scanning technologies open opportunities for collecting anthropometric data more rapidly in a more convenient manner. In order to ensure the validity and reliability of data collection, the importance of anthropometry standards should be highlighted as well.
