Th e diff erent kinds of risk and what type of risk best fi ts an organization What costs and impact would aff ect an organization if the environment were disrupted or destroyed (as outlined by the risk determined) Th e diff erence among the tactical, operational, strategic, and system perspectives in terms of mitigation layers in the transportation system How each of these contributes to assuring the services provided by the transportation system

Having identifi ed risks to the organization, steps must be taken to bring risk back to acceptable levels. Th e organization’s management will be able to determine whether the level of risk is acceptable based on abilities of maintaining specifi ed levels of performance. Some regulatory requirements might require organizations to assure that certain goods and services are available. Th e organization will have to take the impact of requirements into consideration.
