ABSTRACT

The thought of IT governance can make any executive shudder and the IT practitioners run for cover. The job of CIO is one where in a line of ten people, nine will step back, none forward. In this section, we will review the role of IT governance with regard to leadership, management, clients, and users of IT. We will also review effective organization structures to establish governance that seeks to achieve business goals and the contributions to those structures of the practitioners within IT Providers. We’ll define the principles and help identify governance intentions according to critical questions for the organization.
