ABSTRACT

All the chapters in this handbook are interrelated; for example, Chapters 25 and 61 of this handbook are particularly relevant to this chapter. Chapters in Part I provide a valuable introduction and overview of universal access that constitutes the context for the present chapter. Chapters in Part II address many of the issues of user diversity that create the need for eff ective user models. However, all the chapters are relevant, since they contribute to a better understanding of the context of universal access, theory, and practice, in the present and future.
