ABSTRACT

In the past, students with disabilities used to be segregated into special schools or classrooms, populated only by children sharing the same disability. is practice had a negative impact on the ability and opportunities of these students for inclusion in society. As a result, presently many countries follow a more open approach called inclusive education (Clough and Corbett, 2000), where students with disabilities participate in the mainstream classrooms. is approach provides better opportunities for inclusion to those students, but also raises new challenges to the educational system, as students with disabilities need to access the same educational material as the rest of the students.
