ABSTRACT
In addition to mechanical failures, electronic components fail for a variety of other reasons. We as engineers, program managers, and/or QA managers should conduct reliability calculations on the electronic components to develop an understanding of failure issues as a basis for the first year and extended warranty schedules, or as a basis for maintenance and repair scheduling. To do this, we first determine the reliability of components individually and then of the assembly as a whole.
