ABSTRACT

Achieving and maintaining compliance in a multi-facility operation or on the corporate level is a daunting task given the number of constantly changing variables, different job responsibilities and challenges, and the political climate of the company or organization. Corporate safety professionals who have achieved this level within their management hierarchy have achieved safety successes in the past and are now faced with the challenges of multiple locations, management of additional personnel, budget issues, staffing issues, and a myriad of other more complex and numerous issues that may have been encountered in the past. The management of the corporate level for safety and health is substantially different than at the plant level with the skills of leadership, delegation, and communication being essential components at this level.
