ABSTRACT

The number of human CpG islands was estimated to be within a hundred thousand. One approach to the genomic scale data analysis has been to perform locus-wise statistical test for methylation differences between cases and controls. After correcting for multiple testing, we identify candidate loci for verification by independent techniques. Although extension to the standard tests has been developed to enhance the power of the tests, the issue of interdependence in the between-locus DNA methylation has not been systematically addressed.
