ABSTRACT

Overview The.purpose.of.this.chapter.is.to.discuss.process.improvements.using.several.office. examples.. This. discussion. includes. asking. general. questions. related. to. the. why,. where,.how,.and.who.of.making.process. improvements,.as.well.as.reviewing.the. general.and.specific.methods.necessary.to.implement.improvements..Our.goal.will. be.to.demonstrate.the.linkage.between.process.improvements,.which.we.have.also. called.countermeasures,.to.a.Kaizen.team’s.analysis.of.root.causes..These.concepts. will.be.demonstrated.using.six.common.office.workflows:.finance,.accounting,.sales. and.marketing,.product.design,.human.resources,.and.procurement..These.office. examples.have.been.provided.to.demonstrate.data.collection.and.analysis.tools.and. methods..The.chapter. ends.with.a.discussion.of. several.ways. in.which.a.Kaizen. team.can.present. its. recommendations. to.obtain.a.consensus. from.management. and.the.process.owner.for.process.changes.
