ABSTRACT

Overview An.organization.will.only.support.change.when.the.argument.for.it.is.logical.and. compelling.and.its.employees.are.actively.engaged.in.aligned.process.improvement. activities..However,.most.isolated.Kaizen.projects.are.implemented.without.much. resistance.because.the.process.owner.and.local.work.team.are.involved.with.the.process.analysis.and.subsequent.changes..However,.a.disadvantage.of.this.bottom-up. approach.is.that.if.the.deployment’s.activities.are.isolated,.then.its.process.improvements.will.be.difficult.to.sustain.or.propagate.through.an.organization..As.a.result,. a.major.theme.of.this.book.has.been.that.Lean.and.Kaizen.events.should.be.an.integral.part.of.an.organization’s.operational.strategy.with.other.reinforcing.initiatives,. such. as. Six. Sigma.. When. properly. deployed,. Lean. and. Kaizen. events. have. the. potential.to.dramatically.increase.tremendous.productivity.for.an.organization.
